Flood Advisory for Goose Creek, Summerville

The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for the Goose Creek and Summerville area until 3:15 p.m.

The advisory notes an approaching storm system with heavy rain and warns of minor flooding in areas with poor drainage. Drivers are warned to avoid roads where water has covered the pavement, noting that it can be deeper than it appears.

"When encountering flooded roads, make the smart choice — turn around, don't drown," according to the NWS statement.

Heavy rain for most of today and into the early morning hours Wednesday.
