The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for areas including Goose Creek, Ladson and Hanahan until 4:15 p.m. Friday afternoon.
Up to 4 inches of rain had fallen in the area in the early afternoon and another 1 to 2 inches was expected. Residents were encouraged to monitor weather conditions throughout the afternoon.
The National Weather Service reported flooded roads in Crowfield Plantation and flash flooding was expected in Goose Creek and Hanahan.

The NWS noted only one foot of water can stall a vehicle and only two feet can carry a vehicle away.
The weather service is also warned about frequent lightning strikes, urging residents to avoid isolated, tall objects outside and to stay away from doors and windows when inside.

A slow-moving storm systems was expected to drag through the area throughout the afternoon, bringing heavy rainfall.
