Flood Advisory Issued For High Tide Tonight

Coastal Charleston County and tidal Berkeley County on notice.

The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood advisory for Charleston County and tidal Berkeley County until 11 p.m. tonight.

A wind advisory and flash flood watch that were also remain in effect until 11 p.m.

Shallow flooding is expected at high tide tonight, at 7:45 p.m., though the highest water levels could possibly arrive up to an hour later. "Some street flooding will occur in downtown Charleston in some of the normally flood-prone areas," according to the alert.

The NWS also warns of rough surf and dangerous rip currents tonight, as well as beach erosion.
