Foul Play Not Suspected in Inmate's Death

Coroner: Autopsy results delayed for toxicology analysis.

Foul play is not suspected in the Wednesday morning death of a Berkeley County inmate, according to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury.

Jason Stout, 32, of Moncks Corner was found dead at 10:25 a.m. Wednesday in his bunk at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center. The Coroner's Office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division are investigating the death.

An autopsy conducted Thursday found no trauma on the body, Salisbury said in a statement.

The autopsy results are pending a toxicology analysis, which is expected to take several weeks.

Stout has been held since March 30 on a family court bench warrant.
