Coroner Identifies Four Dead in Jamestown Wreck
Five-car crash Wednesday on Highway 17A.

The Berkeley County Coroner has released the names of the four people who died in a car accident on Hwy. 17A near Jamestown on Wednesday.
Edith Jackson, 55, and Angie Arthur, 45, both of Georgetown, and Melvira Johnson, 51, of Loris, were in a van involved in the five-car accident. They were in one of several vehicles traveling with The Lighthouse of Jesus Christ Church of Georgetown.
According to Coroner Bill Salisbury, their van was heading south when it collided with a car heading north. The three died from thermal burns when the van caught fire, said Salisbury.

The other fatality was Steven Morse, 36, of Jamestown, who was in another vehicle involved in the accident. Morse died from body trauma, Salisbury said.
All four were pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident is under investigation by the Berkeley County Coroner's Office and the S.C. Highway Patrol.
