Fire Destroys Hanahan Home

A Hanahan home was destroyed in a fire late Thursday night.

Red Cross reports that it assisted one resident at 1006 Waring Rock Road, providing temporary shelter in a hotel, financial assistance to replace food and clothing lost in the fire, a comfort kit with emergency supplies and referrals for other aid.

The organization also assisted four North Charleston residents after their home sustained damage in a fire early Friday morning at 102 Wicker Court.

The Red Cross has assisted 1,110 individuals needing aid due to disasters, such as home fires, in its seven-county region since January 1, 2011 and 267 in October and November alone.
