Friday Football: Cane Bay Goes for 2-0

Goose Creek hits the road and Stratford hosts Sumter.

After a surprising 10-3 victory against Summerville High, the new 4A Cane Bay Cobras will go for two-in-a-row against Fort Dorchester. The Patriots are defending their own 1-0 record after a 41-21 win over Carolina Forest last week.

Goose Creek isn't wasting any time hitting the road to defend its state title. The Gators travel to Colleton County this week. Last week, Ashley Ridge's 48-16 loss was actually a team best against Goose Creek. Look for The Cougars to make a similar attempt just to get on the board. Goose Creek beat Colleton County last year, 58-0

Speaking of shutouts, Stratford High will be shooting for more success after a 28-0 win over Berkeley High. The Knights host Sumter on Friday night. Sumter lost last week in a close game to Crestwood, 15-14.

And, with a 1-1 record, Hanahan is coming out of last week's loss to Tiberland to face another tough challenge: Bishop England. Maybe a home-team crowd will help push the Hawks to victory.
