Friday Football Results: Goose Creek wins 56-0

Homecoming wins for our local teams.

It was homecoming week for several of our local teams and there were solid wins all over the region.

James Island wasn't the weakest opposition this week, but they weren't much of a match for Goose Creek's Gators. The final score was 56-0 and the Gators are now 7-1. It was another strong showing from an unstoppable offense and an unpenetrable defense. Next week, Goose Creek heads to Wando.

Colleton County had a challenging, winless season heading to Stratford on Friday night. Unfortunately for the Cougars, the homecoming spirit didn't disappoint. With the 41-0 win, the Knights have secured their winning season. Next week, Stratford hosts West Ashley in what's sure to be a more challenging opponent standing in the way of another victory.

Homecoming held a lot of expectations for Hanahan. After loss-after-loss in the first month, the Hawks hit the road and found three wins in a row. They were heading home Friday to take on a winless North Charleston. Hanahan got what it was looking for with a 51-0 homecoming victory. Next week, Hanahan's game against Stall will be televised on MyTv's Thursday Night Lights.

Cane Bay hosted Hilton Head this week after a tough game on the road last week against Bluffton. The Cobras beat Hilton Head 37-19. Next week, Cane Bay heads to Lake Marion.
