Friday Football: Goose Creek and Stratford 6-0

The Goose Creek Gators are at 6-0 after beating Beaufort High on Friday night, 65-14. At home again next week, they'll go for seven against Carolina Forest (1-5).

And, again, the Gators have some local company among undefeated schools. Stratford beat Summerville, 41-17 in a visit across Interstate 26. Led by quarterback Jacab Park, the Knights (6-0) are proving to be just as tough a competitor as one would expect in the same burg as Goose Creek.

Cane Bay beat Colleton County, 26-21, in a Thursday night game. Now 5-1, the Cobras have a tough two weeks on the road. They'll visit Stratford next week, followed by Goose Creek on Oct. 12.

The Hanahan Hawks beat Orangeburg-Wilkinson, 40-7, in their first Region 8-AAA game of the season. The win puts Hanahan at 5-1 as they head to Berkeley High for a road game next week.
