Friday Football Results: Goose Creek 56-7

Stratford finds first loss of season, Hanahan finally wins.

The Goose Creek Gators found their first home-field victory of the season with a solid win over Fort Dorchester, 56-7. That follows the 58-0 victory over Colleton County last week and the 51-7 victory to open the season against Irmo. With all of that in mind, Summerville should be very proud of its 12-point loss to the Gators earlier this month.

Next week, the 4-1 Gators travel across town to play the Stratford Knights. The Knights had their first lose Friday with a final score of 14-10 against the Green Wave of Summerville. Stratford will also be heading into the game next week at 4-1, but with a much more challenging road to victory.

After opening the season with two losses, the Cane Bay Cobras proved they're on a roll, beating Woodland 29-7. Next week, Cane Bay hosts Battery Creek. At 3-2, the Cobras will try to extend their winning streak to four.

It was a squeaker, but a win is a win — and, going into Friday with 0-4, Hanahan needed a win against Berkeley High School. The final score was 24-21. The Hanahan Hawks will be heading to Garrett Academy next week.
