Our local teams got off to a good start on Thursday night, with Cane Bay's 19-15 win over Berkeley High. That gives the Cobras a 7-3 record for the season and a 4-1 record for the division.

The good times kept coming Friday, with Goose Creek's 65-3 win over Ashley Ridge, proving last week's 28 points from Wando was a fluke. The Gators defense is as solid as ever. That was the last home game for the regular season. Next week, the Gators take their 9-1 record to Beaufort for one last showdown.

After a rough start to the season, losing four straight and seeing star Chris Brown benched with an injury, Hanahan High came back with win after win this season. On Friday night, the team clenched the region's top spot with a 55-7 victory over Woodland. That's 6-4 for the season and undefeated in the region.

The Stratford Knights traveled to James Island this week and came home with a 31-0 victory. Now at 8-2, the Knights will be home for the last home game next week, hosting Wando in hopes of a ninth victory to close out the season.
