Friday Football Results: Stratford Wins 28-23

Goose Creek runs over more opposition and Hanahan gets third win in a row.

The Goose Creek Gators earned another win in an almost flawless season, beating the West Ashley Wildcats, 35-3. Now 6-1, the Gators host James Island next week for homecoming. The Wildcats can claim some small victory in keeping the Gator offense under 40 points and managing to score at all against the Gator defense.

Coming off of two straight losses, Stratford put a hard-fought win on the board Friday night. They beat the Fort Dorchester Patriots, 28-23. Startford is now 5-2. The Knights will be back home next week, hosting Colleton County.

Hanahan has been on a roll … recently. The team will be heading home next week with three wins on the road. Friday night, it was Academic Magnet who fell to the Hawks, 70-13. Hanahan is now 3-4 and they'll take on 0-7 North Charleston in hopes of bringing the season even with a fourth straight victory, and the first at home.

Cane Bay was hunting for a fifth straight win, but undefeated Bluffton wasn't expected to make it easy. They didn't. The Bobcats won 42-14. Next week, the Cobras are back home, hosting Hilton Head.
