Fundraising Continues for Snakebite Victim
Goose Creek 8-year-old recovering slowly, support grows.

It has been a scary holiday season for Zach Szalas and his family. The 8-year-old Goose Creek boy was bitten by a rattlesnake at Charleston's Wannamaker County Park in late November.
Live 5 News noted earlier this week that Zack is breathing on his own in the slow recovery from the venomous snake bite.
Howe Hall AIMS Principal Christopher Swetckie tells Patch that the school alone has raised roughly $2,300 so far toward Zach's treatment and recovery  He said the community has also been donating to the fund at First Federal Savings and Loan.Â
