Gators at No. 15 in USA Today Rankings

With the win over Dutch Fork last week, the 5-0 Goose Creek Gators are getting national attention on their trek for a consecutive state titles.

USA Today's national Super 25 high school rankings has pushed Goose Creek up to No. 15, from 21.

The 28-17 win over Dutch Fork wasn't the thumpin' that most Gator opponents have suffered, but a win is a win. The State has complete coverage of the game.

USA Today pointed out running back Rico Blanding's two touchdowns in Friday's game.

Byrnes High School is at No. 3 in the USA Today rankings.

USA Today isn't the only observers who like what they see out of Goose Creek. The Post and Courier's Phil Bowman his out with his latest top 10.

For another week, Goose Creek is at the top as "the team to beat," with Stratford in second. Hanahan is at 6 and Cane Bay has moved up from No. 10 to 8.
