Goose Creek Annexes 22 Acre Greene Pointe

Property likely eyed for development.

Goose Creek City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to annex more than 22 acres near the intersection of St. James Avenue and Myers Road.

The property includes a 1.57 acre piece of land on St. James Avenue that connects to the larger 21 acres that currently houses the Greene Pointe trailer park.

The site will be zoned conservation open space. Mayor Michael Heitzler said the owners are planning a residential development on the site.

Also Tuesday, the council approved early payoffs on two loans for the city's water program, as wells as the . When the last bill is paid for the course loan Oct. 5, the city will be debt free.

Councilman Mark Phillips was absent from Tuesday's meeting.
