Goose Creek Archer Impressing in State Program

As Hunger Games hit the theaters earlier this year, the world came calling for Ella Kokinda.

A Bishop England senior, Kokinda is ranked second among young women in the National Archery in Schools program.

Her talent and her age have prompted many to caller her a real-life Katniss Everdeen, the heroine in the Hunger Games.

In the spring, ESPN High School Girl magazine and Inside Edition featured the young local talent. 

On Sunday, the Post and Courier interviewed Kokinda and her coach, drawing attention to the state DNR's archery program. Kokinda picked up the sport in seventh grade after reading a flier at a church event.
