Goose Creek Election Results
Two incumbent council members re-elected. Runoff in two weeks for third seat.

It was a strong turnout from Goose Creek voters Tuesday as resident showed their support for two incumbents, but a third seat remains unfilled until a runoff election.
Jerry Tekac and John McCants will be returning to the council. Planning Commission Chairman Franklin Moore had more votes than incumbent Sal Gandolfo, but not enough to avoid a runoff April 17.
The other candidates in the race included challengers Steve Galik, Fred Grisham, Don Mason and Gerald Stinson.

Councilman McCants has spent 40 years in Goose Creek and was first elected to council in 1992. McCants has stressed his service to city residents and his work volunteering for needy communities throughout the Lowcountry.
An executive with NBSC, Tekac is finishing his first term in office. Tekac had spent eight years on the city's planning commission. He recieved the most votes of any candidate on Tuesday, with a large number of them coming from the Crowfield community he calls home.

Moore sent out fliers and reached out to thousands of voters. His truck has had campaign signs on the sides for weeks. On Tuesday, it was crowned with large campaign posters.
Gandolfo has served 16 years on council after serving 14 on the city's zoning board. Like McCants, Gandolfo prides himself on his hard work for residents.
Both candidates have pointed to fire protection as one of their top priorites.
