Goose Creek Fire Displaces Family

American Red Cross provides assistance to four residents.

A Goose Creek fire Monday evening displaced four people and damaged a home off Montague Plantation Road.

The Goose Creek Fire Department responded to the fire at 530 Hansford Drive. According to the American Red Cross, volunteers were called to assist the family, providing temporary housing, money to replace lost food and disaster comfort kits with toiletries and other essentials.

The local Red Cross chapter works across seven counties in the Lowcountry. The group has reportedly assisted 28 individuals affected by home fires in the last 48 hours. Since Dec. 1, they've assisted more than 100 individuals.
