Goose Creek History Lecture Series Returns

Any questions about Goose Creek history? Ask the mayor. Seriously. There likely isn't another resident alive with the knowledge Michael Heitzler has of this community.

Better than that, he share's that history in a conversational way that doesn't make you feel like you're in a stuffy lecture hall.

On Oct. 4, Heitzler returns with his fall lecture series on the history of Goose Creek. The seven-part series will be held in City Hall on Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. beginning Oct. 4. Admission will be free.

The history series is popular with locals interested in the heritage of this area and transplants wanting to know more about the place they've decided to call home.

The Mayor held his first lecture series in 2007, which drew over 50 attendees each week, according to a release. Mayor Heitzler is the author of three books on the history of Goose Creek.
