Goose Creek Kicks Off Bike Path Project

New route opening access to municipal pond.

Construction is under way on Goose Creek's new hiker/biker trail running in front of the Marguerite H. Brown Municipal Center, which will be followed by a new trail route providing access to the large pond at the municipal center.

The existing trail runs down North Goose Creek Boulevard and ends on the south end of the municipal center.

The nearly $262,000 project will wind the trail up past the municipal center, providing access to the Goose Creek Community Center and the pond. In mid-Februrary, the crew will begin work on the path around the pond.

The contract with Gulf Stream Construction of North Charleston was and work began earlier this month. The project should be completed by this summer.

The project is being funded by enhancement funds and C-funds, accoriding to the city.
