Goose Creek Man Convicted of Criminal Sexual Conduct
Judge sentences him to 12 years in prison and five years probation.

A Berkeley County jury has convicted a Goose Creek man of first-degree criminal sexual conduct in a 2010 case.
Michael Christopher Andes was sentenced to 20 years. Circuit Court Judge Kristi Lea Harrington suspended it to 12 years in prison and five years probation.
According to the Ninth Circuit Solicitor's Office, the victim told police that on Nov. 6, 2010, Andes began sending her texts at 3:30 a.m., demanding sex. When she refused, he entered her bedroom and forced himself on her. After sexually assaulting the victim, Andes reportedly urinated in the room.

The prosecution presented forensic evidence and phone records, which corroborated the victim’s testimony.
"The victim showed enormous courage and perseverance, especially during over six hours of cross-examination at trial," said assistant solicitor Anne Williams. "We are pleased the defendant got the verdict he deserved and thankful that the victim and her family can move past this tragedy."Â

According to the Solicitor's Office, Andes had previously been convicted of two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, multiple counts of breaking into motor vehicles and grand larceny.
