Goose Creek Police Make Meth Lab Arrests

Two separate operations busted, according to GCPD.

The Goose Creek Police Department announced riday the results of two separate meth lad investigations. 

On Tuesday, Goose Creek investigators received information on possible methamphatmine use at 424 Tammie Avenue. The home is just two blocks from the Goose Creek Municipal Center.

Officers investigating vehicles at the home found that one had a stolen vehicle tag. After speaking with homeowner Ashley Crothers, officers say they determined meth was being manufactured in the home.

Crothers allegedly confessed to meth use and that she had provided the home as a place for other suspects to allegedly produce meth.

Crothers also told police that a fire was started in the kitchen roughly two weeks ago during the meth production.

Dustin R. Lane and Ashley Elizabeth Crothers are charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and methamphetamine disposal. 

Lane is being held on a $260,000 bond and Crothers is being held on a $40,000 bond.

Sherman Blake Baskins has been charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and is being held on a $45,00 bond.

Police say they expect to make one more arrest in the investigation.

In an unrelated ongoing narcotics investigation, officers searched the home at 330 Camelot Drive on Thursday afternoon. According to police, evidence suggested a meth lab was located in the home. Charleston drug enforcement agents and a contractor disposed of the lab materials.

The resident of the home, Johnny Lewis Hedges IV, has been charged with manufacturing methamphetamine in the presence of a minor and disposal of methamphetamines. Bond has not been set in his case.
