Goose Creek Shopping Centers Targeted by Copper Thief
Two recent reports filed within a day of each other.

The state's new copper recycling guidelines have put a dent in thefts, particularly from exposed copper casing for air conditioning units. But Goose Creek shops recently had well over a dozen units tampered with.
The owners of the Shannon Park Shopping Center asked a maintenance man to check the A/C unit at one of the downtown Goose Creek strip mall's restaurants.Â
He contacted police when he discovered the copper tubing attached to the A/C unit wasn't working. He went on to check the rest of the shopping center and found that 16 A/C units had copper tubing missing.

The next day, the Musicians Exchange on North Goose Creek Boulevard reported that someone had cut into the copper wiring on its air conditioning unit in what appeared to be an attempt to steal the copper.
It's possible that both cases occurred on the night of April 3.
