Hanahan Baseball, Softball in Lower State Title Games Friday

Teams battle for a shot at state championship series.

Hanahan's baseball and softball teams will be playing in the final games of their respective Lower State tournaments tonight in Berkeley County.

The Hanahan girls will be hosting Dillon for the Lower State finale at 5 p.m. Dillon previously lost to Hanahan in round two of the tournament, 5-3.

A win for the Lady Hawks will give them a slot in the state championship series. The winner of Friday's game will host the first round of the series. They'll take on the winner in the Upper State Tournament title game: Gilbert or Palmetto.

Meanwhile, the Hanahan baseball team will be taking the short trip to Bishop England for their Lower State Championship at 5 p.m. The Hawks will need back-to-back victories tonight to clinch the title and host game one of the state championship series.

Hanahan lost to Bishop England in round two of the tournament, 6-5.
