
The AA State Championship Series begins today in Hanahan as the Hawks take on Upper State champs Gilbert. The game is at 6 p.m. Monday at Hanahan.
The teams will head to Gilbert on Wednesday. If they split the series, a third game will be played at a neutral location to determine the state champs.

“Gilbert is a very good team,” Hanahan coach Brian Mitchell said. “They have some very high-profile players and solid pitching. They have a lot of quality arms. So we have to continue to do the things that got us here.”
