Hanahan Hosting Dixie Softball State Tournaments

5-day tournaments for girls 9-12 kicks off this weekend.

Hanahan High had an exciting run in this year. This weekend gives the younger girls a chance to show off their skills on the diamond.

The Hanahan Recreation Department will be hosting three Dixie League tournaments this weekend at the Hanahan Recreation Complex. 

Play kicks off today for the Dixie Darling tournament (ages 7-8), along with the Dixie Angels and Dixie Angels X-Play (ages 9-10).

Joining two Hanahan teams, other competing communities that have registered include: Pageland, Sumter, Aynor, Jefferson, Lake Marion, Dentsville, Walhalla, Turbeville, American Landrum, Boiling Springs, Walterboro, Williamston, Lancaster, and Midland Valley.

Admission on Saturday is $6 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-10. For the rest of the tournament, admission is $5 for adults, $4 for children 6-10. Children ages 5 and under are admitted for free.

The Hanahan Darlings competed in the Dixie Darling World Series tournament last year. The 2012 World Series tournaments will be in Georgetown.
