Hanahan Teen in Serious Condition After Fatal Crash

Highway Patrol offers a few more details on Saturday incident.

Original Story: A 17-year-old Hanahan student is listed in serious condition after a fatal collision on Oakley Road on Saturday afternoon.

Blade Scott Kornahrens was air-lifted to the Medical University of South Carolina.

Thomas Mack, 19, of Cross, was , according to Berkeley County Chief Deputy Coroner George Oliver.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at 1:46 p.m. on Saturday on Oakley Road, near Doughty Lane. Kornahrens was reportedly heading west in his 1994 Ford pickup, while Mack was heading east in a 2005 Pontiac sedan.

Investigators have not determined a cause of the crash and no charges have been made at this time. Neither driver was reportedly wearing their seatbelts.

The incident is under investigation by the Highway Patrol and the Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team.
