Update: Heavy Rain Expected This Week

Weather service warns of localized flooding into Thursday.

The National Weather Service is now predicting that the wet weather will stick around into Thursday.

The heavy rain is expected to produce scattered showers and thunderstorms tonight. Possibly resulting in localized flooding. And more of the same is expected Wednesday and Thursday.

The National Weather Service is expecting heavy rain today for the Lowcountry. It is calling for scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms today, some with very heavy rainfall. The NWS warns of potential localized flooding, particularly near the U.S. 17 corridor.

The storms could continue into early Wednesday morning, with localized flooding issues reaching communities east of Interstate 95.

Today's forecast calls for showers and thunderstorms after 10 a.m. with winds up to 10 mph and new rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch.
