High School Football: Cane Bay at Hanahan

The Game of the Week has two local schools battling kit out. Cane Bay travels down the road to visit Hanahan High. The Hawks, 0-3, are hoping for their first win of the season. But it's likely to be a tough fight against the Cobras (1-2).

Also this week, the 3-0 Stratford Knights are at home again, taking on the traveling Beaufort Eagles (2-1).

Goose Creek (2-1) will be looking for a winning streak after last week's 19-7 victory over Summerville. They'll be visiting Colleton County for the Cougars' first home game of the season. With a 0-3 record, Colleton is going to be hungry for a win, but faces an up-hill battle against the nationally ranked Gators.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution wonders whether recruiting is going to be impacted after a slow start to the season for the Georgia Bulldogs (0-2). Among the recruits mentioned: Goose Creek wide receiver Tramal Terry.

The Post and Courier says defense was the key to victory last week in Goose Creek's win over Summerville. a persistent offense that broke through against the Green Wave in the second half.

And S.C. Prep Nation points out Alabama is showing some interest in the Gators' Jalen Stevens. The defensive end was Post and Courier's player of the week in Week One.
