High School Football: Goose Creek vs. Summerville

UPDATED: Goose Creek beats Summerville 19-7.

Friday Night Lights:

Game of the week goes to Goose Creek High (1-1) at Summerville High (2-0). Coming off of last week's close loss, Goose Creek will be hunting success, but Summerville will certainly be fighting for that third straight win.

Another local one to watch, Edisto High (1-2) takes on Cane Bay High (0-2). The Cobras are going to be hunting for that first win of the season.

Stratford (2-0) will be playing away (but not too far away) at Ashley Ridge (2-0). Someone is going home with their first loss of 2011.

Hanahan has the week off.

The Post and Courier got a look in the announcer's box and the people behind the voices, including Hanahan's Ric Raycroft and Goose Creek's Mike Bender.

It was an improved, but still winless Cane Bay High in week 2, according to The Berkeley Indepenent.

South Carolina is benefiting from players faithful to the Palmetto State, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, including offensive tackle Brandon Shell.
