Playoff season is in full swing this weekend as our local football programs head into the early rounds of post-season play.
In AAAA Division 2, No. 1 Goose Creek welcomes No. 16 Lancaster. The Gators (10-1) have plowed through the regular-season competition. Lancaster comes to town with a 6-5 overall record and a split, 3-3, on the road.

Meanwhile, No. 6 Startford will host No. 11 Conway High School. Both teams are 8-3. Startford is 4-2 at home and Conway is 4-1 on the road. Depending on who wins the Ashley Ridge/Laurens game, this could be the Knights last home game of the season.
After a week off, Hanahan is getting its first shot at post-season play. Lake City returns to the Lowcountry this week to take on the Hawks after a 55-0 win over North Charleston last week. At 6-4 Hanahan was on a six-game winning streak before securing a bye in the first round of the playoffs. Lake City has a 6-5 record and is 3-2 on the road.

After its 42-16 victory over Wilson last week, Cane Bay heads to Marlboro County for round two of the AAA playoffs. Both teams are 8-3.
