Homicide Ruled in Francis Marion Discovery

Gunshot wounds killed the man found dead Tuesday in the Francis Marion National Forest, according to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury.

Robert Moultrie, 31, of Conway, was found on Brick Church Road on Tuesday morning inside a Chevy Suburban.

Following the autopsy, the coroner ruled the death a homicide. He did not disclose where Moultrie was shot or how many gunshot wounds there were, due to the ongoing investigation.

The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office and the Coroner's Office have been investigating the case.
