Psalms 130: 5-8
I wait for the LORD, my soul does wait, And in His word do I hope. My soul waits for the Lord; For with the LORD there is lovingkindness, And with Him is abundant redemption And He will redeem you From all your iniquities.

Psalm 131:1,2
O Lord, my heart is not proud, nor my eyes haughty; Nor do I involve myself in great matters, Or in things too difficult for me. Surely I have composed and quieted my soul; Like a weaned child rests against his mother, My soul is like a weaned child within me.

God has a million strategies for keeping your life as free from anxiety as possible. Here are four that are particularly helpful. First, as much as you can control the situation, be at peace with everyone in your life. When you are in conflict with another person, your witness is diluted. Your “witness” is how other people see you. So when you are in a negative relationship with someone, they aren’t thinking what great example of God’s love you are. They’re thinking, “What a yuck,” and as a result, they are associating God with your not-so-very nice behavior. Having your witness diluted means that your behavior is a watered down version of what it should be. That’s why God says, “As much as it depends on you, be at peace with all men” (Romans 12:18). But just like always, He isn’t just telling you this for His sake, or your “enemy’s.” He knows that when you are feeling badly about someone, you are also stuck in the quick sand of negativity. That is why God gives you the next big strategy, which is known as the Golden Rule: “Treat other people the way you want to be treated.” And guess what? If you are doing that, you will be at peace with others. Next, keep your life as simple as possible. When you overbook your time, you may start feeling overwhelmed and then become whiney which is not a good example of what a person of faith should look like. And once again, God doesn’t tell you this just so He looks good. God loves you and knows that when you become overburdened and frustrated you are more likely to take your ball and bat and go home. And the final strategy, which is the one that makes everything all right, is to always remember to “hope in the Lord.” Ask God to fix whatever is on your heart in a way that is best. Then let it go. Have faith in the unseen. God can make everything right. Your job is to keep your life simple and practice the Golden Rule. Easy peasy.
