And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened.  And the angel said to them “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which shall be for all the people.”

Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to render service for the sake of those who inherit salvation?

What can you learn about God through the messages of angels?  You learn that the Creator of the Universe hears you, loves you and wants you to find joy. And He doesn’t want you to be afraid because when you are fearful, your spirit is frozen and you will have neither the will nor desire to step out of your comfort zone and try something new and accomplish the very things that you were created for. That is why throughout the Bible every time an angel appears, the first thing they say is, “Do not be afraid.”  Angels are God’s messengers that He sends to protect you and encourage your heart.  So this season, take a lesson from the angel’s page.  Dedicate yourself to being an angel for the people in your world.  People so often say that they don’t know what do or say to someone who is in pain. Yet sometimes words aren’t necessary and the most helpful act is simply being with that person, whether physically or emotionally.  Everyone, no matter how “big” they look, has a secret child within who is afraid of something and needs encouragement.  Strive to be a “ministering spirit,” who lessens anxiety and brings comfort and joy to the people in your world; even those you don’t care so very much for, because God surely cares for everyone.  So this Christmas, when you see an angel on the top of a tree, remember in this season and every season, to spread God’s love with your every breath.  He will give you the words to say and in your acts of kindness, His light will shine through you and you will become that Christmas angel.
