How To Fill Up Your Spiritual Gas Tank When You Are Running On Low

Romans 1:8,16, 19

Grace to you and peace from God our Father.  I thank my God because your faith is being proclaimed throughout the whole world. For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes,  because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.

Romans 5:3-5
And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance;  and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Psalm 107:2
Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; For His lovingkindness is everlasting. Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the adversary.

2 Corinthians 1:3,4
Blessed be the God who comforts us in all our affliction so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted.

God wants you to be “at peace” so that your “spiritual gas tank” will be full.  He knows that when your “tank” is low for whatever reason, you won’t feel like taking your “car” out of the garage.  And so God sends you comfort and solutions when things are tricky so that you will in turn fill the “tank” of someone else when they are running on empty. God wants you to be a “guide to the blind and a light to those who are in darkness” (Romans 2:19).  You may find it incredible that God would want you to minister and direct another person because you don’t feel smart enough or good enough.  But that is exactly what God wants.  He wants to use you to help others and most importantly someone special, who is on your heart today. God knows that when someone you really love is having a hard time, you won’t be at peace either, which is why He is going to use you to guide and direct them.  So, when you see someone struggling, pray for the words to comfort and help them.  Then, go out on a limb and tell them.  Don’t worry about how you’ll sound. That’s why God has put the advice on your heart to begin with.  And the really neat part with all of this is that as you spend your moments thinking about what you “should” say to every person you come in contact with, the quality of your day will increase, because your mind will be off what is wrong in your life and instead your energy will be focused on something you can control: how you can help someone else. Your spiritual gas tank will start to fill up again. It’s all part of God’s plan to keep you and all His children at peace!
