Luke 11:5-9,13
And He said to them, "Suppose one of you shall have a friend, and shall go to him at midnight, and say to him, 'Friend, lend me three loaves; for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him and from inside he shall answer and say, 'Do not bother me; the door has already been shut and my children and I are in bed; I cannot get up and give you anything.' "I tell you, even though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will get up and give him as much as he needs. And I say to you, ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you.”

Matthew 6:7-10
"And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition, as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words. Therefore do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need, before you ask Him. Pray, then, in this way: 'Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done.’”

The Bible talks a lot about prayer, but sometimes people neglect to tell you how to pray so that you can resolve whatever is troubling you. That’s why God wants to “break it down” so you won’t miss any of the blessings or answers He has for you because you didn’t ask; and just as importantly: you can start to feel better the minute you put this four step plan into action. First keep Matthew 6:33 close to your heart and on the tip of your tongue all throughout the day: "Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.” Say that verse over and over in your mind. What it’s saying in “regular people talk,” is that when you ask God to put into play what He wants to happen in any given situation, the perfect solution that you alone never could have thought of will occur. So step one is to repeat that verse out loud or in your head, or just ask God in “plain talk” to make happen what He wants to happen. Once you have done that, you can move on to step two which is to specifically tell Him what you would really like. It might not be what happens, but you won’t have lost because you didn’t ask. That’s what’s known as losing by “default.” The third step is to be persistent. Pray unceasingly. Keep throwing the ball back onto God’s side of the court. This will allow you to take control of situations where you have no control. You can’t work the miracle, but you can take your heart’s desire to the Miracle Worker. Step four is not to worry about tomorrow. God says very specifically “Don’t be anxious for tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34). Keep that verse handy also! Once you have gone through these steps, all your anxiety might not be gone and you still might not have the specific answer you were looking for. That’s when you flip back and start all over again because it is only when have “God’s will” for your life (which is “Bible Speak” for what He wants for you), that you will ever have a prayer of a chance for peace.
