I urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

Philippians 3:14
I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
God made you special. He gave you unique gifts and abilities so that you could accomplish something during your time on earth that only you can do. In “Bible-speak,” your particular “task” in life is referred to as your “calling.” A calling doesn’t have to be a great big thing, like your career or your marriage. A calling can just be what you do and say every day. But the trick to that is that you have to be listening for God’s voice so He can direct you in a particular way, which will enable you to be “at peace” and a blessing to others. That is one of the many reasons why He gives you these great strategies to “pull up” your spirit when you become weary. The first little “pull up secret,” is to keep your eyes on the Prize!” And guess who that Prize is? That’s right, God. Each day, with every decision, every little tricky or not so tricky thing that happens to you, continually say to God, “This is way to big for me. I am turning it over to You to work out in the way that you want it to, which is the best possible way.” Keep your eyes on the Prize. When the eyes of your spirit are off God and on the scary world of “what ifs,” that’s when anxiety comes pouring in. It’s been said that “God whispers in our pleasures, speaks in our conscious, but shouts in our pain.” No matter what the circumstances, keep turning the moments of your life over to the Ultimate Counselor. The second part of pulling up your spirit is all about you. Continually transform your body and mind. Remember the transformer toys? They are the ones that appear like one thing, but when you flip them around they “transform” or change to something entirely new and different. When your heart becomes anxious, think of yourself as a transformer and flip your mind back to peace by repeating God’s healing strategy: “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” That simple act will remind you to keep turning your eyes back to the Prize, which of course is God, who is just waiting to fix everything including your spirit, if you just ask. Keep your eyes on the Prize and continually transform your mind, body, words, and actions to the way you would be if you knew God was watching every second. You will be a blessing and a happier person for it.
