Marrington Elementary School is creating a variety of learning gardens. The first one that has been completed is the “Reading Sanctuary.” This is an outdoor classroom for students to enjoy a beautiful, quiet area for reading and observing nature. Future plans include creating a vegetable garden, an art and observation area, and a recycled garden.
Volunteers from the Naval Munitions Command (NMC) Unit Charleston graciously are donating their time and talent to make the dream of this most special environment a reality. Community Engagement is one of Berkeley County School District’s initiatives. The Marrington family is grateful to have such enthusiastic support within the military community! This is a big win-win for families and friends of all Marrington students!
