Liquor Stores, Mead Westvaco and More on This Week's Agendas

What public bodies will be considering this week.

Berkeley County Council committees will meet beginning at 6 p.m. Monday in Council Chambers, 1003 Highway 52. 

The Land Use Committee will review an amendment to the planned development for Cane Bay Plantation regarding liquor stores. It will also review a zoning request for Mead Westvaco Camp Road to create an office/industrial park district.

The Justice and Public Safety Committee will hear grant and budget requests, including additional funds for a new deputy in the school resource officer budget.

Also meeting, the county's Public Works and Purchasing Committee, Planning and Development Committee and the Water and Sanitation Committee.

The Berkeley County School Board meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the boardroom of the Berkeley County Board of Education Building, 229 E. Main St.

The board will consider second reading on changes to the district's procurement code and student promotion policy. It will also consider the first reading on changes to the staff leave policy.

Hanahan City Council meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Council Chambers at Hanahan City Hall, 1255 Yeamans Hall Road. We'll update this post Monday with agenda details.

Goose Creek City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Council Chambers at Goose Creek City Hall, 519 North Goose Creek Boulevard. The council will consider annexing 22 acres off Myers Road. The proposed zoning is open space/conservation.

The council will also consider a proposal from the city administration to payoff the remaining debt on the Crowfield Golf and Country Club.
