Local Marching Bands Busy This Month

The Berkeley County School District released its arts calender for the next few weeks and it is all about the bands. Highlights:

• Sept. 17: Berkeley County Marching Band Preview Show at Goose Creek High Football Stadium. Participating bands: Cane Bay High School; Goose Creek High School; and Hanahan High School.
• Sept. 23: Eighth Grade Band Night, 6 p.m. at Goose Creek High. Participating bands include: Marrington Middle School of the Arts; Sedgefield Middle School and Westview Middle School. 
• Sept. 24: Walterboro Band Classic at Walterboro High School Football Stadium. Participating bands include: Berkeley High School; Cane Bay High School; Goose Creek High School; Hanahan High School; Stratford High School; and Timberland High School.
• Sept. 30: Eighth Grade Band Night, 6 p.m. at Stratford High School Football Stadium. Participating schools include: College Park Middle School; Marrington Middle School of the Arts; and Westview Middle School.
• Oct. 1: Lowcountry Invitational Band Competition at Wando High School Football Stadium. Participating bands include: Cane Bay High School; Goose Creek High School; Hanahan High School and Stratford High School.
