Three recent motorcycle thefts in Goose Creek and Hanahan join Summerville incidents.

Three recent motorcycle thefts in the Goose Creek area join a string of recent thefts in nearby Summerville.
On May 2, Hanahan residents at The Landing apartment complex contacted police regarding motorcycle thefts.
A silver and red Honda valued at $2,500 was taken from one resident. Searching the parking lot, police found a side-view mirror that had been broken off the motorcycle.

That afternoon, a neighbor reported that his motorcycle, a blue and white Yamaha, was missing. He put the value of the bike at $7,000.

On Thursday, a resident at the Coventry Green Apartments in Goose Creek contacted police after his 2005 Suzuki had been stolen.
The victim told police that he'd parked his bike in front of his mother's car to make it more difficult to steal. The bike was valued at $6,000.
Last week, Live 5 News' Mark Davenport reported on a motorcycle theft ring in Summerville.
"They're stealing an older model minivan," said [Summerville Police Capt. Jon] Rogers. "They take the seats out of the minivan and discard them to the side. Then they'll go to another apartment complex and steal motorcycles."
Last week, reports of two stolen passenger vans were reported in Summerville from the Waters Edge Apartments and Martins Creek Boulevard.
Two other reports of missing sport bikes came across Capt. Rogers' desk on the same day. The motorcycles were stolen from The Tradition Apartments and Church Hill Commons.
