Goose Creek schools showed off some engineering expertise in the Storm the Citadel! Trebuchet Competition.
Held Feb. 18, competitors included eight elementary schools, seven middle schools, 15 area high schools, two teams from The Citadel and two Lowcountry businesses.
Teams were required to build the catapults and launch large balls at a range of between 50 and 200 feet. Points were awarded and winners selected based on accuracy, design and team spirit.
