Local Trucker Wrecks Rig Filled With Popsicles
La. law enforcement: Driver fell asleep at the wheel.

A local truck driver turned his truck on its side early Sunday in Walker, La., according to a report by NBC 33 TV.Â
"Andrew Smith, 29, of Goose Creek, S.C., was operating an 18 wheeler heading west at the 14 mile marker when he fell asleep at the wheel," Captain John Sharp said. "His tractor-trailer left the right side of the roadway, struck the guardrail of the West Colyell Creek Bridge and rolled on to its right side as the driver attempted to bring the truck back on to the roadway."
Smith wasn't injured. He was ticketed for careless driving. Clean-up crews spent hours removing the trailer's load: un-frozen Squeeze Pop popsicles.Â
