Lowcountry's First Fireboat in Action
North Charleston Fire Department demonstrates new tool.
North Charleston's newest fire-fighting apparatus got a special demonstration during the city's 4th of July festival after the North Charleston Fire Department dedicated the Lowcountry's first fireboat at Riverfront Park.
The fireboat was named after retired Fire Chief W. Frank New. It can pump more than 2,000 gallons of water per minute through 4 water monitors, according to a release.
