Make Your 4th of July Plans Now
Two big Independence Day events held in Goose Creek area, plus more Charleston opportunities.

The 4th of July is the celebration of this great nation, but it's also one of the best opportunities of the year to get outside and spend time with friends, family and neighbors.There are two big celebrations to choose from (or stop by both) in the Goose Creek area.
The city will be hosting the annual , with music from the Right to Party Band, food vendors and children's activities, including a jump castle, giant slide and patriotic temporary tattoos. The event begins at 6 p.m. and ends with a finale firework display. There is no shuttle this year, so parking will be tight. Plan ahead.

Things are going to get a little wet with on Wednesday. Centex Homes and The Church at Cane Bay will be hosting a water wonderland as part of its 4th of July celebration at the Old Rice Retreat (across from Cane Bay Elementary).
There will be an inflatable water park with slides for all ages, "the largest Slip n' Slide you've ever seen," arts and crafts for the kids, music, food vendors, an apple pie eating contest and a 30-minute firework show beginning at 9:15 p.m. The event begins at 5 p.m.Â
