Map: Deer Park Attempted Abductions

Two girls in Deer Park, the small North Charleston community near University Boulevard, told police Friday that a man tried to grab them, according to several local reports, including The Post and Courier.

The children described him as a white man between the ages of 20 and 30 with a blond hair cut short, blue eyes and freckles. They said he drove a red Jeep with black stripes.

The description provided by the young girls was similar to an incident last month when a woman was approached by a man on a nearby street. In that case, the man also allegedly attempted to abduct her in a red Jeep.

Update: The Post and Courier reports this morning that this case is "eerily similar to what a woman told Hanahan police occurred on Sept. 7."
