The Week of October 28-November 1, Marrington Elementary School celebrated Red Ribbon Week. During this week the students were encouraged to “Just Say ‘No’ to Drugs.” The 2013 Red Ribbon Week theme was “A Healthy Me Is Drug Free!” In honor of this special week, MNE observed the following schedule!
Monday: “Wear Red and Just Say ‘No’ to Drugs!” Everyone at Marrington Elementary School wore red as a reminder to “Say ‘No’ to Drugs!”
Tuesday: “Get Fired Up and Say ‘No’ to Drugs!” Teachers distributed Red Ribbon goodies to the students. The goodies were provided by the Joint Base Charleston, Drug Demand Reduction Program coordinated by Selwyn Stephens, and MNE PTO.
Wednesday: “Sock it to Drugs!” Students wore their craziest or mismatched socks to show everyone that they wanted to “Sock it to drugs!”
Thursday: “It’s a Banner Day When You Say ‘No’ to Drugs!” Students signed a large banner in the cafeteria, after they ate lunch, pledging their support to “Say ‘No’ to Drugs!”
Friday: “Team Up Against Drugs!” Students wore their favorite team jersey or Marrington shirt.
