Marrington Elementary School along with their Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) sponsored a Veteran’s Day luncheon to honor active duty and retired military personnel. Lunch was provided by the PTO. All of the honorees were invited to come eat lunch with their child sponsors. Desserts were donated from the faculty and staff. During the days leading up to the luncheon, students composed essays on the topic reflecting that all personnel in the military are heroes. The entire Marrington “family” was honored to show their appreciation to their military friends and family members. Marrington Elementary School is a Berkeley County Public School, located on Joint Base Charleston/Naval Weapons Station. The student population is made up predominantly of children of active duty service members, which contributed to the special poignancy of this special event.
