Mrs. Lee Eddings third grade students are hard at work using their slates in math to practice finding the missing addend.  This learning activity is a Common Core State Standard for third grade students.  Common Core State Standards are utilized in every Berkeley County School through new units of study that have been developed by BCSD educators.  Common Core Standards provide a consistent, clear understanding of what students are expected to learn, so teachers and parents know what they need to do to help them. The standards are designed to be robust and relevant to the real world, reflecting the knowledge and skills that students need for success in college and careers. With all students fully prepared for the future, Berkeley County will be best positioned to compete successfully in the global economy.
