Mrs. Alyssa Seyfried’s 4th Grade Gifted and Talented Class, has been studying “A Christmas Carol,” by Charles Dickens. As a culminating activity, the students conducted research on the Victorian Era. Using their research, the students created characters that might have appeared in the story. Students “assumed” the identities of the characters that they created and dressed appropriately in period costume. They were rewarded for their efforts with a holiday party with the new and improved Ebenezer Scrooge, aka Marrington Principal, Barb Webber.
Marrington 5th graders designed their own ornaments to celebrate the holidays in Mrs. Lamb’s class. Students voted for their favorite ornament and the winner received a sweet prize!
Students from Mrs. Liberty Crossetti’s 2nd grade class enjoyed doing a “following direction activity.” By following directions, they were able to make Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer sandwiches! For a reward, the happy students promptly ate them.

Mrs. Melanie Wyndhm’s K4 class made “Christmas trees” by using green icing, an ice cream cone and mini MNMs for their ornaments. The students wore their pajamas because they rode on “The Polar Express” and visited the North Pole. Every student received a golden ticket and was greeted by the conductor and who punched a hole in each ticket.
Students from MNE’s After School Care “Cub Club” also got into the holiday spirit by creating Christmas ornaments.
